China's first St. Regis Resort will blend luxury and green at Tibet

Tibet which is famous for the Dalai Lama will soon have new added luxury attraction, China’s first St Regis Lhasa Resort from Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. Placed 3,680 meters above sea level, the resort will offer a new dimension of luxury to the tranquil surroundings. Placed at Jiangsu Road near the famous ancient Barkhor area, the resort will share close proximity to the holy Potala Palace and will be located a mere 75km from Gongga Airport. The resort, reflecting the rich Tibetan culture will have 150 rooms and villas, 12 suites including the Presidential Suite, and world-class restaurants, bars, an exclusive Iridium Spa, ballroom and state-of-the-art meeting space. The rooms will features all modern amenities like Plasma TVs, multi-channel cable, high speed internet access, huge marble bathroom, and tasteful furnishings to give the global guests a luxurious stay.

The resort will also feature a wide selection of international cuisines, apart from Si Zi Kang the first gastronomic Tibetan restaurant, Yan Ting Chinese Restaurant to savor Cantonese and Sichuanese cuisine, a first-of-its-kind Tea Room, Decanter by Haut-Brisson serving more than 140 wine labels and the Iridium Spa. Aimed at being a green hotel, the initiatives include usage of solar energy and underground water to save diesel consumption each year by 93,000 kg and 75,000 kg respectively.
