Astronauts are extremely intelligent people, but have you ever thought of what they would be doing if they are bored in zero gravity and can't really step out for a stroll? Well, some artists care and so artist's studio in New York City has come out with limited edition chess sets for these lonely souls from Tom Sachs. The pieces feature rare-earth neodymium magnets and a high-mass 5 lbs felt-covered lead base to stay firm on the board. This stunning set priced at $12965 features black cosmonauts pitted against white astronauts in a lunar style chess set. The pieces spot names crafted by hand, and also come with three landing legs customized for the magnetic lunar surface.
