Connoisseurs of priceless time pieces will be aware of the annual SIHH – Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in Geneva to be held from January 17 to 21. This year around renowned watchmaker Piaget will entice visitors and potential buyers with its stunning new, ultra-thin Emperador Coussin Tourbillon Automatic watch. At 10.4mm thickness, it is considered to be a breathtaking record-setting tourbillon. For those not very familiar with the terms, a tourbillon is an addition to the mechanics of a watch escapement which is the source of the "ticking" sound produced by watches and clocks. The new watch features Piaget’s caliber 1270P mechanical self-winding tourbillon which boasts a power reserve of up to 40 hours. The watch comes in two colour combinations – rose gold and white gold. The watch comes with a range of extravagant features and costs somewhere close to $225,000.
