A NEW "GEM", A PERFECT BLEND OF HISTORY AND INNOVATION

Sarnico, 7th February, 2011 – Riva, the iconic Ferretti Group brand, has announced the creation of a new model, featuring elegance and ease of transportation as distinctive characteristics. The Riva Iseo, a 27 foot day cruiser, is destined to become a must-have for lovers of design and boating on lakes as well as in the open sea.

The new Riva Iseo is an important innovation for the celebrated nautical brand due to its size and design elements. This particular model is the latest creation of the unique working relationship between Officina Italiana Design, exclusive designers of the entire Riva range, AYT – Advanced Yacht Technology, Ferretti Group’s naval research and design centre, and the team of architects and designers at the Centro Stile Ferrettigroup. The new model has been devised so the owner can “live” his boat in any occasion. The Riva Iseo has its own custom-made car-trailer, allowing easy transportation of the yacht, wherever the owner wishes to go.

In just 27 feet one can enjoy the perfection and style that has made Riva a true icon of timeless glamour and elegance. Soft, clean-cut lines, thorough space-planning, careful attention to detail and the use of highly sophisticated materials are the distinctive characteristics which make Riva Iseo the noble heiress to a centuries-old history of excellence and meticulous craftsmanship. This bond with the past is evident in the extensive use of mahogany throughout the boat, true to the Riva hallmark, the Riva Iseo is skilfully crafted with its masterly twenty coat varnish finish - ten by brushing, ten by spraying.

Riva Iseo values the surrounding environment and is an innovative option suitable for day cruising in waters with high environmental value. The yacht will also be available in a hybrid engine version with the ZEM (Zero Emission Mode) cruising option, Ferretti Group’s revolutionary cruising mode system, particularly suitable for lakes, especially where normal boating is forbidden. The ‘Hybrid Propulsion ZEM’ version, with hybrid propulsion and Zero Emission, will not compromise speed using high powered diesel propulsion, combined with the electric one.

Besides responding to an increasing demand for on-board infotainment, Riva Iseo is also the very first yacht of its kind to be equipped with both infotainment and GPS charts built for the Apple platform for iPad. This software has been specifically designed for Riva Iseo and also features a number of interesting applications, such as browsing the Riva Iseo owner manual, viewing the weather forecast and other information, as well as listening to live stream radio, TV or one's own playlists with high quality sound.

“The new Riva Iseo revives and evolves history,” declared Norberto Ferretti, Chairman of the Ferretti Group, who has always taken a personal interest in the development of all models in the Riva range. “After the wooden classics like the Ariston and the Florida, which made the history of our shipyard in the smaller yacht range, Riva today has introduced another small yacht that encompasses the values that have made Riva the legend it is today: meticulous craftsmanship, uniqueness, elegance and painstaking attention to detail.”

“We wanted to create a sophisticated, essential day cruiser, ideal for both lake and sea, which met all the requirements of comfort, ease of transport and prompt use, distinguished by her unmistakeable design, stirring emotions and to be appreciated not only by nautical enthusiasts”, stated Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta, founders of Officina Italiana Design. “This led to the creation of a small model featuring all the comfort of a large luxury yacht.”

“The new Riva model is a true jewel, a precious gem that we have carefully and passionately designed”, confirmed Paola Procopio, Riva Brand Manager. “Our huge commitment to this yacht has resulted in extremely high consideration of the Riva Iseo. In fact, in just a few weeks we have already received several orders .”

Riva Iseo will be available as of Summer 2011. This new model has been designed with painstaking attention to furnishing, accessories and detailed space planning, with clean-cut lines and high-performance features. The standard version of Riva Iseo is equipped with a Yanmar 6BY2 260 260mhp engine and a Yanmar 350 duoprop ZT350 stern drive, which allows the yacht to achieve a top speed of 34 knots (preliminary data). Alternatively, the optional version features a Yanmar 315mhp engine and Yanmar 350 duoprop ZT350 stern drive, providing a top speed of 37 knots (preliminary data). In the gasoline version, Riva Iseo is equipped with a Mercruiser 8.2 MAG 279kW 380 mph 4800 g/m engine and Mercruiser Bravo Three X stern drive, providing a top speed of 38 knots (preliminary data). The Ferretti Custom Line 100 has been designed to appeal to the younger generation of yacht lovers and thus sports a sporty look courtesy the precise lines on the yacht’s exterior. However the sportiness of the boat has not caused the design of the boat to undergo any drastic change and compromise on space or other features. There is a strong presence of glazing gives the yacht the appearance of a lightweight model.

The interior is distinguished by a contemporary style, offering owners the chance to experiment with a variety of materials. The most distinct feature of this new line of yachts is however the introduction of the wide body type, near the bow area where the master cabin is located. This new feature has led to increased on-board space.

The salon opens out onto a foldaway terrace and is split into living and dining areas and features free standing furniture with a lot of customization options. The lower deck features the four guest cabins, all with en-suite heads and large open windows. There is a lot of outdoor space as well including a flybridge equipped with large sunpads and an external lounge at bow on the main deck.
