All five models of $2.7 million Bugatti World Record car sold out

Signaling the revival of the luxury car market is this latest news from Bugatti which states that the famed supercar brand has sold out all of the 1.95 million Euros ($2.7 million) World Record cars. Yes, according to reports, all five of Bugatti’s World Record cars, dubbed to be the globe’s fastest serial-production cars, have been reserved. The supercar which has a top speed of 415 kilometers (258 miles) per hour was debuted at the Paris Auto Show this week. This news indicates that the luxury cars are back in demand and that the auto market is all set for a boom once again.
Besides Bugatti, Fiat SpA’s Ferrari have also claimed to have sold out their most expensive models while other famed car makers like Bayerische Motoren Werke AG and Daimler AG’s Mercedes-Benz are targeting a 10% increase in their sales.

Highly customizable Maybach 57 and 57 S models unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor Show

The best part that I like about luxury cars is the fact that you can customize it for extra comfort and make it look even more opulent. The 2010 Paris Motor Show saw one such launch through the Maybach 57 and 57 S models. The luxury car makers will soon have the power-packed and feature rich vehicle out to sit pretty in your garage too! The car will feature a shaped edge bonnet, trimmed front bumpers that come with LED daytime driving lights, dark red tail lights, a special paint job and stylish wheels.

On the inside, you can opt for a Maybach 62 models rear reclining seat, hand-braided or Swarovski encrusted seat piping, a delicate flacon perfume atomizer, a WLAN router internet access and a 19-inch cinema screen.

The Maybach 62 and 62 S models come with additional option of an overview camera specially fitted for the entertainment for the rear passengers. The seat backrest will features the text “MAYBACH MANUFAKTUR” in 925 sterling silver, customers can also add colored carbom fiber trims in silver of red for a more dramatic effect. The car however will be available in Bahamas Blue color.

Ferrari California HELE Prototype Unveiled at Paris Auto Salon

An exotic automaker like Ferrari may be more about performance than environmental friendliness, but that doesn't mean the famed Prancing Horse marque is immune to the tides. In order to preserve its "way of life" – in other words, continue to produce the kind of physics-defying performance machines for which they've become known – Ferrari has been working on a number of ways to reduce its environmental impact. The latest is the HELE system incorporated into this California roadster which it unveiled (alongside the limited-production SA Aperta) at the Paris Auto Salon.

Standing for High Emotion Low Emissions, the HELE system incorporates a new generation of start/stop engine management, an intelligent engine fan, advanced fuel pump control, electronically variable climate-control system and precisely timed adaptive gear shift algorithms to reduce emissions by 23 percent without sacrificing performance. Although the system has yet to be announced for production, it points the way forward for a company trying to balance its environmental responsibilities with its own performance benchmarks.

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Concept Debuts in Paris

The ultimate formula to engineering a high-performance automobile is the power-to-weight ratio. Most automakers that want their cars to go faster up the power part, but some are increasingly focusing on reducing weight, which also happens to help with handling, braking, fuel economy, carbon emissions. Lamborghini has typically fallen into the former category, but has declared its intentions to join the latter with the Sesto Elemento concept.

Currently on display at the Paris Auto Salon, the Sesto Elemento is a case study in performance through reduced weight. The Italian engineers managed to curb the curb weight down to below the 1000 kilogram (2,200 lb) mark through the extensive use of carbon fiber and carbon-reinforced plastic in the frame, body, suspension, brakes...even the wheels. Coupled with the 570-horsepower V10 engine from the Gallardo, the reduced weight is said to be capable of propelling the Sesto Elemento from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.5 seconds, topping out over 300 km/h (186 mph).

Although strictly a concept for the time being, methods and design elements from the show car promise to find their way into the next generation of Lamborghini supercars roaring around the corner.

Mercedes-Benz Debuts New CL63 AMG in Paris

Who said bigger was always better? The Mercedes CL-Class may be one of the largest luxury coupes on the market, but the latest top-of-the-line performance model – revealed for the first time at the Paris Auto Salon – actually features a smaller engine than the one it replaces, and with positive results, no less.

Replacing the 6.2-liter V8 from the outgoing CL63 AMG, the new model packs a twin-turbo, direct-injection 5.5-liter V8 that produces 544 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque (upped to 571 and 664 with the optional AMG Performance Package) while reducing fuel consumption by 25%. All that power propels the big beast – complete with all the latest electronic systems and luxurious amenities you'd expect in a range-topping Benz – to 60 in just four and a half seconds.

Audi Unveils the e-tron Spyder in Paris

Over the past few years, Audi has arguably been working as arduously on electric power as any of its rivals. The German automaker calls its electric prototypes "e-tron", and unveiled its latest concept to use the moniker at the Paris Auto Salon.

The e-tron Spyder is differentiated from its predecessors by its open-cockpit body-style, but its unique qualities don't stop there. The drivetrain couples a conventional twin-turbo diesel V6 with 300 horsepower to a pair of electric motors, distributed evenly across the chassis for optimum weight distribution. If this is the future of hybrid electric vehicles, the future is looking very bright indeed.

BMW Unveils the New X3 Crossover in Paris

It was hardly that long ago that a company like BMW didn't come anywhere near the crossover-utility vehicle market. But these days the Bavarian automaker has a growing variety, including the middle-of-the-road X3. Smaller than the X5 but larger than the X1, the second-generation X3 has just been unveiled at BMW's pavilion at the Paris Auto Salon.

The styling is rather similar to the original model it replaces, but the 2011 X3 packs all of BMW's latest technologies, from the twin-scroll turbocharger and eight-speed automatic transmission to the variable steering and adaptive chassis dynamics. And for the first time, models destined for the North American market will be built to order right here in the United States at the company's Spartanburg, South Carolina, assembly plant.

Audi Celebrates 30 Years of All-Wheel Drive with the Quattro Concept

All-wheel drive has proliferated across the industry, but lest we forget one of its originators, Audi unveiled the stunningly muscular Quattro Concept at the Paris Auto Salon.

Created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Audi's iconic traction system, the Quattro Concept draws its inspiration from the legendary 1980 Audi Ur-Quattro. Like the original, the new concept keeps its weight under 3,000 lbs and is powered by a turbocharged five-cylinder engine. Based on the Audi RS5, the Quattro Concept delivers 408 horsepower through a six-speed manual transmission (in place of the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox) to all four wheels with a power-to-weight ratio equal to that of the top-of-the-line R8 5.2 FSI. 

Unfortunately this is just a show car for the time being, but if this is a sign of where Audi is heading, color us excited.

2011 Lamborghini Sesto Elemento concept is real eye candy

Some of the concept cars that the luxury car giants come out with are not just resourceful but also are stunning to see. So after Lamborghini Madura and the 2020 Lamborghini Minotauro earlier this year the luxury car makers have finally launched the Sesto Elemento concept car. Weighing in at 2,202 lbs the carbon fiber based car features a V10 power unit and a permanent all-wheel drive. Lamborghini has mastered the entire CFRP process through an assortment of technologies, including its 3D design through simulation, validation, production, and testing. The car can hit speeds of 0 to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds flat and can race up to high speeds of 186 mph. The lightweight carbon-fiber structure features the front frame, exterior panels, and crash boxes which are made with the CFRP technologies. The car also comes with carbon-fiber floors, roofs, doors, cockpit centre console and suspension components with Pyrosic tailpiples.

Harley-Davidson, linia pentru 2010

Harley-Davidson si-a dezvaluit ultima colectie, cea pentru 2010, cuprinzand noua modele noi, cele mai multe cuprinse intr-o colectie din toata istoria companiei in cei 106 de existenta. Nu sunt modificari de platforma, asa ca nu va asteptati sa vedeti decat mici modificari si imbunatatiri, dar nimic radical.

Preturile modelelor CVO Fat Bob, CVO Softail Convertible, CVO Street Glide si CVO Ultra Classic Electra Glide variaza intre 25.299$ si 35.999$, iar celelalte cinci sunt sub 10.000$, dand posibilitatea fanilor sa-si achizitioneze motorul in functie de puterea financiara, fara prea multe batai de cap.

Lamborghini Reventon Spyder la Frankfurt?

Zvonuri cum ca Lamborghini va iesi pe piata cu un roadster ultra-rar sau despre Reventon-ul din fibra de carbon, la un pret de 1 milion de euro, s-au tot auzit, dar acum se pare ca la salonul de la Frankfurt va fi prezent Reventon Spyder (foto). Limitat la 20 de exemplare, Reventon s-a vandut imediat dupa ce a fost anuntat. Se pare ca, avand la baza modelul Murciélago LP670-4 SuperVeloce, cu motor V12 si 670 de cai, Reventon Spyder va fi mult mai exclusivist, iar productia va fi de doar 9 exemplare. Pretul? doar 1,6 milioane de dolari...

Victory a lansat doua modele noi

Doua modele agresive au fost lansate de producatorul din Minnesota, Victory. Este vorba de modele Cross Country si Cross Roads, primul la 18.000$, iar cel de-al doilea la 16.000$. Ambele modele au motoare V-Twin, 92 de cai putere, cate patru pistoane si discuri de frana de 300mm. Modelul Cross Country incorporeaza un display digital multifunctional, pe langa sistemele analogice (vitezometru, tahometru), cat si un sistem audio iPod.

La un Pearl primesti un Bentley

Producatorul englez de yachturi de lux, Pearl Motor Yachts, vine cu o noua oferta: la cumpararea unui yacht Pearl 60 primesti un Bentley GT Continental Coupe. Cele doua branduri colaboreaza de ceva timp si se completeaza reciproc, majoritatea clientilor unui brand agreandu-l si pe celalalt. Pearl 60 este renumit pentru costul sau, cat si pentru designul ce ofera intimitatea mult dorita. Tehnologia este de ultima ora, sistem de navigatie Garmin si control Wesgarde. Cele doua motoare sunt Volvo si au cate 775 de cai putere. Per total, se prezinta ca un adevarat yacht de lux.

Ne plac tricicletele?

Cine ar vrea sa schimbe un vehicul pe doua sau patru roti pe unul cu trei roti? Cei care doresc o schimbare se poate orienta catre noua forma creata de Lehman Trikes. Dubbed CrossBow se mandreste cu o tinuta de zile mari prin motorul sau Freedom V-Twin si suspensii Lehman "No Lean". La un pret de 34.000$, se preconizeaza ca noul CrossBow 2010 va da lovitura la finele anului 2009.

Custom Chanel

La inceputul anului se vorbea despre o masina Chanel, un concept ultra-fashion. Iar de acum, pe strazi exista, cu adevarat, un alt vehicul Chanel. Un custom ce a fost comandat de casa de moda pentru un shooting in fata magazinului Chanel's Rue Royale din Paris, in care a aparut si sexy-modelul Lara Stone. Motocicleta a avut la baza modelul folosit de actorul Marlon Brando in filmul "The Wild One" si a fost realizata la Toulouse, Franta. Din pacate nu exista un proiect de viitor pentru acest model, neintrand in productie.

Mansory Vincero costa 1 milion $... plus un Bugatti Veyron

Noi, astia - majotitatea, ne gasim o masina, de la diferite marci, al carei pret sa aiba 4-5 cifre. Ei, bine, Bugatti si Mansory nu sunt marci care sa se bazeze pe noi ca potentiali cumparatori, ci pe cei care au posibilitatea financiara de a cumpara o masina al carei pret nu are cinci cifre, nici sase, ci sapte cifre. Pentru acestia a fost conceput Bugatti Veyron, dar apoi a venit Mansory ca sa ridice si mai mult standardul. Preluand toate editiile speciale Veyron, Mansory Vincero le upgradeaza cu un pachet de aerodinamicitate, jante noi, fibre de carbon peste tot, iluminare pe LED-uri si inca 108 cai putere. Masina a fost dezvaluita la salonul de la Geneva din martie, cand s-a anuntat ca vor fi realizate doar trei exemplare. Nu este de mirare acest lucru, tinand cont de pretul ce il poarta: un milion de dolari si, bineinteles, un Veyron.

Jaguar lanseaza in 2010 noul XJ

Jaguar este una dintre companiile care nu si-au uitat radacinile si isi pastreaza traditiile. De aceea, va lansa in 2010 noul XJ, cu o noua fata, dar respectand versiunea veche a modelului. Calcand pe urmele modelului XF (care a inlocuit E-Type-ul), noul XJ urca Jaguar cateva trepte in modernism.
Avand drept concurenta seria 7 de la BMW, Mercedes S-Class si Audi A8 – ca sa nu mai amintesc Maserati Quattroporte, Porsche Panamera sau Bentley Continental Flying – sveltul model XJ este realizat in totalitate din aluminiu si dotat cu tehnologie de ultima ora pentru a putea performa pe piata de lux. Preturile incep de la suma de 72.500$ pentru modelul de baza – un motor V8 de 5l cu 385 de cai putere. Mai exista si o versiune cu 470 de cai si una cu 510 cai putere, ultima atingand pretul de 115.000$.

Vom vedea, la momentul potrivit, cum va concura in piata si ce succes va avea.

Mercedes-Benz, pe bicicleta

Ciclistii din Coreea isi pot imbunatatii stilul de viata datorita Mercedees-Benz. Producatorul de masini de lux a lansat de curand in piata coreeana noua Fitness Bike, bicicleta cu 27 de viteze, transmisie SRAM X.5 si sistem de manevrare Ergonomics Kit. Aceasta bicicleta, destinata milionarilor ce fac fitness, promite a fi ideala pentru un sport "luxos". De pret nu se stie nimic, dar de la Mercedes nu te poti astepta la ceva ieftin.

Mercedes-Benz AMG 300SL

Mercedes-Benz AMG 300SL este un superb sedan ce da nastere unei noi etape a designului. Modelul va fi prezentat la salonul de la Frankfurt din toamna. Cei de la Benz s-au inspirat in crearea acestui model din imaginea Mercedes 300SL din 1954, dandu-i o fata mai sportiva printr-un design al secolului XXI. Interiorul se prezinta cu un look de avion, cu un intreg sistem de "navigatie" complex si o tehnologie de ultima generatie.

Sedanul este echipat cu usi Gullwing si un motor V8 - 571 cai putere. Atinge o viteza de 315km/h, ca toate masinile sport, asa ca cei ce o doresc deja vor trebui sa scoata din buzunar cel putin 210.000$.
O nimica toata pentru cei ce nu sunt in criza...

Volvo XC60 a devenit mai sportiv

Cei care au fost impresionati de XC60, dar care isi doresc o masina mai agresiva, au la dispozitie noul pachet R-design, ce aduce o multime de schimbari la mecanica si un plus de sportivitate fata de varianta originala. R-Design XC60 se poate recunoaste prin jantele din aliaj de 18" sau 20", garda la sol mai mica, insertii de aluminiu la interior... ce e sub capota, ramane sub capota. 

Oricum, chiar si cu acest pachet, XC60 nu se prezinta ca o masina de performanta, dar, macar, nu este doar pachetul standard.
