Famed London luxury goods firm Dunhill is collaborating with UK adventure travel firm Black Tomato on a new series of excursions replicating a famed Dunhill journey in 1930. In that year Dunhill's Clement Court traveled overland from Paris to Japan to secure the very finest Japanese lacquered goods for the firm. Dunhill and Black Tomato are now offering modern versions of Court's epic journey, with appropriately luxurious accommodations and adventuresome activities along the way. The excursions are designed to demonstrate that "luxury is something more discerning, more elusive and more unique than just a price tag", as they put it.

The concept of discovery and exploration has been a hallmark of the Dunhill brand since 1893, as reflected in its most recent collections. The luxury packages are priced from about $4,500 and include destinations such as Paris, Moscow, Mongolia and Japan. Experiences include a private tour of the Louvre in Paris while the museum is closed, a flight in a Russian fighter jet above Moscow, learning eagle hunting in Mongolia (above) and bathing in Japan's oldest mineral hot springs. Guests can also opt to recreate Court's entire journey, including 10 days in a private cabin on the Golden Eagle Trans Siberian railway, starting at about $44,000.

Russia plans a luxury space hotel with greater comforts

How can Russia be left far behind in the space game? After UK private firm decided to start on space tourism, a Russian company is planning to launch a "cosmic hotel" for opulent space tourists. After all, wouldn’t you want to stay a while after all that travelling right? The firm named Orbital Technologies will put up a four-room guest house in orbit by 2016 to which Guests would be ferried on a Soyuz style shuttle.
These cabins will be 20 cubic meters wide and can house up to seven people. Food server will be as per passenger preferences. Pricing, funding or building details have not been revealed by the Moscow-based firm.

Touted to be the world’s highest restaurant, it will be designed Adam Tihany, the renowned hotel designer and boast of a grill room and a large lounge concept. The name Atmosphere is justified by the height of its location and the luxurious address. Though the building also is home to world’s first Armani Hotel where folks can grab a bite, Atmosphere will score high as it will take your dining experience to higher altitude!

Former Lake Las Vegas Ritz-Carlton To Come Back To Life

The latest turn in the saga of Lake Las Vegas promises new life for the former Ritz-Carlton resort.Dolce Hotels and Resorts has been announced as the new manager of the property. The 249-room destination resort located 17 miles from the Las Vegas Strip shut down last May. Dolce Hotels and Resorts specializes in meetings and hosts approximately 30,000 events and four-million group clients throughout its 27 properties in North America and Europe.

The resort is on15 acres of the master-planned Lake Las Vegas development. The development has struggled to find its footing in recent years as Las Vegas tourism has contracted. Lake Las Vegas is designed to resemble an European village with clay tile roofs and arched doorways. The property has 32,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space, a 30,000-square-foot spa and fitness center and several restaurants and lounges. It also has Las Vegas' largest and only over-water chapel, as well as beautiful gardens and courtyards that can be used for private affairs. The property adjoins MonteLago Village.

"We look forward to managing our first Las Vegas property and working with the Lake Las Vegas community to help revitalize this charming destination," said Steven A. Rudnitsky, Dolce president and chief executive officer in a press release. The hotel should be re-opened in early 2011.
